Steele County Food Shelf

Volunteer Position Description

Qualifications:

• Able to make clients feel welcome at the food shelf.

• Ability to work as a team and with diverse groups of people

• Able to lift 25 pounds

Duties Include:

1. Check in/check out with staff

2. Assist families while they shop

3. Weigh out each household's food package.

4. Help unload, sort, and stock groceries.

5. Help keep shopping area clean and organized.

6. Break down cardboard boxes.

7. Be on time for your scheduled shift to work.

Commitment:

• Work a 3 1/2 hour shift.

• Read and sign a statement of confidentiality.

• Report to the Director or Site Coordinator.

• Sign Volunteer Log.
