The Steele County Food Shelf is pleased to announce the 17th
annual Hometown Sampler. A weekend of great talent is presented every year for
the Food Shelf’s annual fund drive. The
best “homegrown” music is presented in three shows at the Little Theatre on
Dunnell Drive in West Hills. This has been a very popular show the past 16 years
and promises to be more of the same wonderful entertainment this year.
Local musicians donate their talent and time to raise awareness about hunger and the need of our county’s food shelf. Admission is through a voluntary cash gift and/or a donation of nonperishable food items for the food shelf. Cash gifts to the food shelf are more efficient and accountable for the purchasing power of the food items most needed by the clients.
One solo act and three bands are in the line-up for the show.
The Food Shelf is grateful for the generous sponsorship of Thrivent and Federated Insurance this year.

| The Gogs musicians include
Maia Marshall, Dan Leer, David Dow, John Weisenburger and Dave
Schroeder. Their band will present; “Long Walk Home” by Bruce Springsteen, “3 a.m.” by Matchbook 20, “Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown Band, and “Dreams” by Brandi Carlisle. |
Our fourth act this year is songwriter Scott Rogness, a rock and R&B styled vocalist with a voice in the tradition of Lou Gramm and Hall and Oates. Scott has worked with Tom Hanks on his film “That Thing You Do”. It is great that he will be performing some of his original music at the Sampler. |
The Hometown Sampler is not only a great time but also represents a significant donation by the musicians; their families and the many, many people behind the scenes who help the Steele County Food Shelf kick off this month of significant fund raising.
